COVID-19 Quilts
During COVID-19, I was unable to get together with any of my family. So I made each member of the family a quilt, especially for them. Since we couldn't be together in person, we could be together through the quilt. This is the collection of those quilts.
If you find that you especially like any of these quilts, I can reproduce it for you.
Purple Sampler QuiltTwo fellow quilters and I kept each other going during COVID-19 with nearly daily texts and sharing pictures of what we were working on. We created two quilts together. One as a gift, and this is the other. We each made a set number of blocks and traded them so we each ended up with a sampler. Thank you, Kimberly and Amy, I couldn't have done it without you! | Pink Braid QuiltMy sister is definitely a pink person - she loves anything pink. I made this pink braid queen sized quilt for her bed. | Frequency Waves QuiltMy brother-in-law is an engineer, so I knew he would appreciate a quilt of frequency waves. I quilted waves on the quilt to continue the theme. |

Peacock Bed QuiltI picked out the peacock fabric for this quilt with my niece in mind, because these are all her favorite colors. She also loves peacocks. | opticalillusion_1-8-22My nephew is very analytical and very smart. I created this optical illusion quilt knowing he would appreciate it. | "Dukeman's Puzzle" QuiltA play on words... my nephew's middle name is Duke, family name. The Dutchman's Puzzle was just calling out to me to make it for him. So I renamed the block "Dukeman's Puzzle" |
Happy Lemon QuliltI made this quilt for my brother, who had a rather difficult time during COVID. He needed something happy, so I made him a Happy Lemon Quilt. | Purple Watercolor QuiltMy sister-in-law is a lover of purple, just like me. So I made her a Purple Watercolor Quilt. I did edge-to-edge quilting on it. | Blue Star QuiltI made this quit for my dad. He is definitely a star in my book. I used conservative reproduction fabrics in the blue and gold tones. |
Grandma's Granny Square QuiltThe name says it all! I just had to make a granny square quilt for my mom, grandmother to four! I used orange because it is her favorite color. | Flag QuiltI made this quilt for Jacob, my son's best friend and our "sometimes other son." He saw a similar quilt in a quilt shop that I dragged him (and my husband and son) to. He took one look at it and said he wanted one. Since he NEVER asks for anything, I knew I had to make it for him. |
