T-shirt/Memory Quilt

Class Description

Do you want to make a memory quilt? Do you have a bunch of t-shirts you have been meaning to put into a quilt, but you don't know how? This class will help you. This is a 5-hour class and comes with a complementary open workshop session, to help you complete the quilt. In this class, you will: • Stabilize your t-shirts • Cut t-shirts and sashing, using a cutting mat and ruler • Choose a layout for your t-shirt quilt • Sew an accurate ¼” seam • Piece together a simple quilt Supply list coming soon. Recommended tools: • 1/4" foot, specific to your machine • 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" square ruler • Pencil We will provide cutting mats and a 6 x 12 inch ruler for each student's work area. We ask that you please provide your own rotary cutters, pins, thread, bobbins, and extra needles. Two irons and ironing boards will be available for shared-use in the classroom. If you would prefer to bring your own iron, I do have several small table-top ironing boards available for use. Don't forget your sewing machine! If you don't have a sewing machine, please let me know ahead of time. I do have a limited number available as needed. *Do you already know how to piece/quilt and just wish to do the project with some assistance, as needed?
