Potpourri Quilt

Two 3-hour sessions ($70)

Fabric Place Basement (Richmond Hwy)

Class Description

By combining triangles of fabric with diagonal strips, you get a the impression of squares inset upon each other. This quilt goes together quickly using a modified strip the tube method. This quilt layout is more challenging than other jelly roll quilts because all your blocks are cut on the bias. In this class, you will learn how to • Choose a diagonal layout for your quilt • Sew jelly rolls strips into strip sets • Use the strip-tube method to cut your blocks from strips • Multiple techniques in working with bias edges. Class Scheduling and Format: Classes are offered in an open-workshop setting, where students may be working on different projects. Each workshop will have no more than 5 students, and start/end times are staggered to ensure that each student gets individualized attention while working on their project. Be sure to schedule both sessions. Please provide your own rotary cutters, cutting mats, pins, thread, bobbins, and extra needles. Two irons and ironing boards will be available for shared-use in the classroom. If you would prefer to bring your own iron, I do have several small table-top ironing boards available for use. Don't forget your sewing machine! If you don't have a sewing machine, please let me know ahead of time. I do have a limited number available as needed.
