Glowing Lone Star Quilt (2 part class)

Class Description

What great colors! Pick up your quilt kit from Fabric Place Basement – they have plenty, and in 2 colorways! Then go to https://www.etsy.com/shop/SliceofPiQuilts and get the pattern: Glowing Lone Star. It looks challenging, but don't let the diamonds intimidate you, this is really just strip piecing and cutting on a 45 degree angle. And we will do most of the cutting using a die cutter – it makes life so much easier. This class comes with two complimentary open workshops to allow you more time to work on the project. Take the open workshop the day after the class, or if you would prefer, you can take it any other time an open workshop is offered. In this class, you will: Use strip sets to make diamonds Align your seams to ensure clean points Learn multiple techniques in working with bias edges Add half and quarter square triangles to generate the star pattern Add borders Supplies for project: Glowing Lone Star Fabric Kit (Fabric Place Basement) Glowing Lone Star Digital Pattern (https://www.etsy.com/shop/SliceofPiQuilts) 1/4" foot, specific to your machine 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" square ruler Pencil I will provide cutting mats and a 6 x 12 inch ruler for each student's work area. I ask that you please provide your own rotary cutters, pins, thread, bobbins, and extra needles. Two irons and ironing boards will be available for shared-use in the classroom. If you would prefer to bring your own iron, I do have several small table-top ironing boards available for use. Don't forget your sewing machine! If you don't have a sewing machine, please let me know ahead of time. I do have a limited number available as needed.
