Gingham Checks
Project Available by Request
Class Description
This super-fun gingham check quilt is a breeze to make. Use just three different fabrics and create the impression of a plaid quilt top. In this class, you will: • Choose three coordinating fabrics (1 dark, 1 medium, 1 light) • Starch and press your fabric • Cut accurately, using a cutting mat and ruler • Sew an accurate ¼” seam • Piece together a simple quilt top This is a 4-hour class, followed by a complimentary open workshop the next day so that you can continue working on your project. If you can't make the open workshop the next day, let me know, and you can come to any open workshop. Open workshops are offered the first and third Fridays and the first and third Sundays of every month. Supply list: • 1 1/2 yards of medium print • 1 1/4 yards of dark print • 1 yards of light print Recommended tools: • 1/4" foot, specific to your machine • 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" square ruler • Pencil We will provide cutting mats and a 6 x 12 inch ruler for each student's work area. We ask that you please provide your own rotary cutters, pins, thread, bobbins, and extra needles. Two irons and ironing boards will be available for shared-use in the classroom. If you would prefer to bring your own iron, I do have several small table-top ironing boards available for use. Don't forget your sewing machine! If you don't have a sewing machine, please let me know ahead of time. I do have a limited number available as needed.
