Beginning EQ8 (Fridays) - 5 sessions

Class Description
Electronic Quilt 8 (EQ8) is an incredibly powerful design tool that allows you to design your own quilt, be it traditional pieced, applique, modern, art quilt, or any combination of. Bring your computer with EQ8 installed, and come prepared for some hands-on fun. In this beginner level class, you will: • Learn to navigate through workspaces and the extensive libraries available to you • Create basic quilts from traditional pieced blocks as well as applique blocks • Create and modify your own quilt blocks • Set your quilt blocks in a horizontal layout as well as an on-point layout, both with and without sashing. • Add borders to your quilts • Test out colors and fabrics within your quilts • Import fabrics from your stash, or from online • Print elements of your quilt, including required yardage and rotary cutting instructions There is so much fun stuff to do in EQ8, that I break this class into five 2-hour sessions. This allows you to learn some, then head home and play some more with your new skills, before coming back to learn the next topic. Start this 5-session series any time you want. Classes are offered the first and third Fridays of each month 11:00-1:00. Supplies: - Laptop with EQ8 installed - Book: EQ8 Lessons for Beginners (available through Amazon or from ElectricQuilt.com) - Pen/pencil and notebook for taking notes.
